Destination Businesses, a Catalyst for Community Reinvention.

Destination Businesses drive more sales and customer traffic to their businesses, while at the same time transforming a town into a destination for consumers.  For this reason, the City has promoted the creation of Destination Businesses through a Community Reinvention Program that offers participants in-depth, accelerated opportunity to receive instruction, strategies and specific tactics to become a Destination Business that can pull consumers past the competition.

Destination Business BootCamp
How to Get Involved

The Destination Business concept was made popular by a retail consulting firm known as the Schallert Group. The Destination Boot Camp is led by Jon Schallert, an internationally recognized speaker and business expert specializing in teaching businesses and communities how to become consumer destinations.

Each year, the City sends up to 6 individuals to a 2-1/2 Day Boot Camp in Longmont, Colorado.  Whether you are a business owner, a retailer, an entrepreneur thinking of starting a business, or a person interested in learning the strategies of creating a Consumer Destination, you will benefit from this accelerated learning program.  Specifically you will:

  • Receive in-depth instruction, strategies, and specific tactics on how to become a Destination Business that can pull consumers past the competition; and
  • Network with other business owners from Central Point and around the nation.
