Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) - The city is a PERS employer.  All employees who work more than 600 hours in a calendar year for a PERS employer participate in either the PERS or OPSRP (Oregon Public Service Retirement Program) plan, depending on their date of hire in a PERS-covered position.  The city currently pays both the employer contribution and the 6% employee contribution.  Information about both the PERS and OPSRP programs can be found online at the PERS link below.

Deferred Compensation -  Employees may elect to participate in any of three "457" deferred compensation programs offered by the city.  The three available plans are through MissionSquare (formerly ICMA-RC), Empower (formerly Mass Mutual), and Corebridge Financial (formerly AIG & Valic).  Additional information about these companies can be found on their websites, linked below.
