The City is preparing amendments to the Central Point Municipal Code (CPMC) to expand the use of mobile food businesses, including food trucks and trailers, throughout the City of Central Point. The purpose of this change is to establish clear and reasonable standards for the operation of mobile food businesses within city limits.

The Citizen's Advisory Committee (CAC) has reviewed preliminary drafts and directed staff to prepare a public hearing draft for consideration at the February 2022 Planning Commission meeting.

Status Updates

07/13/2021 - The Citizen's Advisory Committee (CAC) reviewed a draft of the code amendments. Primary concerns were in regard to hours of operation and standards of operation for alcoholic beverage sales. The CAC provided a favorable recommendation for the Planning Commission.

The PC directed staff to amend the draft code to reflect consistent hours for all mobile food businesses, consistent with City curfews, and amend standards of operations for alcohol sales to reflect Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) regulations.

12/07/2021 - The Planning Commission (PC) reviewed the revised draft code that reflects changes from the previous meeting. The PC made a recommendation to schedule a public hearing for the draft code amendments at the regularly scheduled March meeting.

Comments

I would like to find out more information on the food truck size what size is permitted how many feet of a food truck can it be?

Thank you for your question. Mobile food trucks are subject to the requirements in CPMC 5.44. Individual trucks are not limited to a specific size but are subject to zoning and operational standards, such as setbacks, hours of operation, etc. You can view the permitting requirements online (i.e. Municipal Code Link on the Homepage; Title 5 - Business Licenses; Chapter 5.44, Mobile Food Businesses) and/or give our office a call for additional information.
