Plant a Thousand Daffodils - Art Contest 2023

Central Point Parks and Recreation Foundation's Plant a Thousand Daffodils announces an Art Contest. The contest is open to Middle and High School Students in Central Point and surrounding communities. Prize sponsored by the Table Rock Kiwanas.

Open to Middle and High school students in Central Point and surrounding communities Cash prizes will be awarded for each grade level and all winning entries will be displayed in the Central Point City Hall Art of any style will be accepted but must be inspired by the daffodils blooming in Central Point. 

Rules:

Theme: "Inspired by Daffodils"

Submissions: Up to two entries per student. Artwork must be two-dimensional and no larger than 24X24 inches. Paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed-media and computer-generated art are all welcome. Each entry must be completely original.

Entry: There is no charge to participate. Each submission must list on the back or attached separate sheet of paper the following: Title of work, Name, Grade, Teacher’s name (if relevant), School, Best way to contact. Please note that judging will be done anonymously, and the artist’s name should not appear on the front of the work. Artwork must be appropriate to be viewed by an audience of all ages, based solely at the discretion of the judges. Completed and fully dry works may be dropped off at Central Point City Hall, 140 S. 3rd Street, Central Point, Attention: Dave Jacob, by 4:00 pm, April 28, 2023. Arrangements can be made to pick-up artwork for the contest prior to deadline by emailing centralpointdaffodils@gmail.com.

Prizes: Cash prizes of $50.00 will be awarded to one student in each grade level and winners will be notified approximately two weeks following the deadline. Runners-up in each grade may be selected by the judges and will receive a cash prize. Winning entries will be displayed at Central Point City Hall. Artists of winning entries will be requested to provide an “Artist’s Statement” to accompany the artwork on display in City Hall, and to assist in making the works suitable for hanging
