IMPORTANT PARADE ETIQUETTE UPDATE:
The City of Central Point is pleased to be a part of the 4th of July parade tradition that has taken place for years in our wonderful town. We know this parade has become a family tradition for many of our citizens, and we take great pride in the safety and well-being of our community members and businesses. This 4th of July, we are asking our community to come together and follow a few parade etiquette guidelines that will make the parade experience seamless this year. We are asking for all seating and blankets to be put out on the street no sooner than Monday, July 3rd at 6 p.m. It is also imperative that nothing is blocking sidewalks or walkways that would prevent ADA access. If City Staff does find any of the mentioned items out of compliance, the items will be removed and placed at the nearest intersection or area on the street of removal.
STREET CLOSURES FOR RUN AND PARADE:
In order to accommodate these events, several streets will have full closures throughout the morning and afternoon of July 4th. Please refer to the attached map for closure details. All vehicles along the parade route must be moved from the roadway prior to 6 am on the day of the event in order to provide parade access and to avoid potential damage to parked vehicles. Residents will be able to use S. 5th St. and Cherry St. for access until the parade starts and is completed. We are aware that this may inconvenience you and/or your neighbors. The Parade and Festival are important annual events for our community, and we appreciate your support and understanding.
