Riparian Corridors

Central Point is home to several important riparian corridors—vital green spaces that run alongside our creeks, rivers, and wetlands. These areas serve as natural buffers between land and water, providing essential ecological benefits, supporting native wildlife, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Riparian corridors are the vegetated areas adjacent to water bodies and are measured 50-feet from the top of the bank on both sides. Buffers are established for ‘fish-bearing’ streams with significant riparian area, as established by OAR 660-023-090, and local streams where a buffer is necessary for water quality.
