The Central Point Police Captain works under the general direction of the Police Chief and is responsible for fulfilling the Police Chief's duties in their absence. The Captain directly oversees our Lieutenants and Police Office Manager to maintain consistency and efficiency across our agency while also coordinating with other departments and agencies. Our Captain maintains our department's adherence to law by ensuring our staff members follow local, state, and federal statutes and policies.
The Captain participates in internal investigative reviews, budget preparation, contract negotiation, and oversees major investigations. The Captain also participates in the development and implementation of the department's long-range strategic plan, including community policing and other department initiatives. They also develop, plan, and implement division goals and objectives while recommending and administering policies and procedures.
