Public Works Permit

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT REVIEW/APPROVAL CONDITIONS

A Public Works Permit is required for Sidewalks, Driveways, Curbs and Right of Way (ROW) projects.
All fence construction proposals require a Public Works Review.
All projects require a floodplain review to determine the flood zone. Note: projects in the 100 year (1% annual chance) floodplain (Flood Zones A, AE, AO) require a Floodplain Development Permit.
All projects under 1‐acre that include ground disturbing activities shall obtain a Storm Drain Protection Permit.

Construction and placement of structures is prohibited within a Public Utility Easement (PUE). An exception may be granted for fences subject to approval by the Public Works Director.
Two (2) covered, off-street parking spaces shall be provided per residence.
Dirt ramps are prohibited between the curb and the street.
All construction materials and debris shall be removed and/or cleaned up at the end of each work day. In any event, the Public Works Department shall require immediate response by the Contractor to remove all debris for the street that will or may obstruct vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic.
All roof drains, area drains, and crawl spaces shall drain away from the structure.
The Contractor shall be responsible to protect property corner monuments. All four corner monuments shall be in place before a foundation can be poured. If monuments are disturbed, damaged or removed, the Contractor shall replace such monuments.
Occupancy of a structure is prohibited until a “Certificate of Occupancy” (C of O) has been signed by both the Building Official and the Public Works Director. Temporary water service will be provided for construction purposes only. Residential water service will not commence until a Certificate of Occupancy is completed.
