Meetings
The Budget Committee meets as needed throughout the year, with a minimum of one meeting each spring to review the budget proposed by the City Manager. All meetings are open to the public, and public input is encouraged during the discussions.
During a typical spring meeting, city staff presents an overview of the financial situation, highlights changes in programs and costs, and shares insights on the City’s long-term fiscal outlook.

Overview
The Budget Committee is made up of seven City Council members and seven Central Point residents. Citizen members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, serving three-year terms.
Committee members have the opportunity to ask city staff about financial matters, programs, and operations. They can also suggest and vote on changes to the proposed budget. Once these amendments are made, the updated budget is referred to as the Approved Budget.
The approved budget is then presented to the City Council for adoption. A public hearing is held before the Council, who can either adopt the budget as is or vote on further changes before final approval.
Budget documents can be found on the Finance Department page.
