Water Conservation Page

We are very lucky to have ready access to clean and treated water by just turning on the tap. We shower, brush our teeth, get a drink, and let our sprinkler system run automatically, using an average of 300-350 gallons of water per day at home. This figure increases if you own a farm, swimming pool, or live in a dry area.

Water conservation encompasses the policies, strategies and activities to manage fresh water as a sustainable resource, to protect the water environment, and to meet current and future human demand. Population, household size and growth and affluence all affect how much water is used.
