Weather Alert

Be ready for Hazardous Weather Conditions

Over the weekend and into next week, snow levels are expected to rise to over 5,000 feet and the snow we currently have on the ground will be melting.  In addition, a sizeable rain storm with the potential to drop near 2” of rain will be simultaneously occurring.

In the event that local urban flooding starts to occur, follow the link below that lists suppliers around the valley that have sand bags for purchase. If the situation gets to be an emergency situation, the City will have an emergency sand bag station available at the City Shops for you to fill your own sandbags. The sandbags (limit of 25) and sand are free of charge for residents as long as supplies last.

The City Shops location is 399 S 5th Street. You will enter through the gate at the corner of  5th   and Ash Street.

Please bring identification that you are a Central Point resident.   The station will only be open if flooding begins to occur.   The after-hours non-emergency number is 541-326-3682.

Water Ways

Please make sure that creeks and water ways around your property are clear of debris that could cause them to back up. If one of our Central Point creeks or storm drains are backing up please call the non-emergency number listed above.
