Criminal Investigations

 

The Central Point Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is supervised by Support Bureau Commander Lieutenant Kris Allison. CID has two full-time detectives.

 

The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for investigating major crimes and other incidents as assigned by supervisors that require specialized training and experience or equipment. CID investigates crimes such as:

 

  • Child Abuse

  • Sex Abuse

  • Fraud / Forgery

  • Robbery

  • Major Assaults

  • Homicides/Suicides

  • Officer Involved Shootings

  • Multiple Crimes Committed by Single Individuals

  • Organized Crime

  • Person Crimes

  • Narcotics

  • Felony Property Crimes

 

Detective Jarod Pomeroyand Detective Brian Day are assigned to CID and handle these investigations on a regular basis. 

 

Both detectives rotate on-call status for night and weekend callouts for major crimes or incidents. Each detective is on call for one month at a time.

 

Detectives must be excellent report writers, articulate, organized, and proven themselves to be respected police officers.

 

The detectives are involved in several teams in Jackson County. These include:

 

  • Jackson County Major Assault / Death Investigation Unit (MADIU)

  • Interagency Child Abuse Multi-Disciplinary Team

  • Senior Services and Law Enforcement Together Team (SALT)

  • Southern Oregon Financial Fraud and Security Team (SOFFAST)

  • Rogue Valley Fire/Arson Investigation Team

 

Beyond these teams, all detectives attend regular meetings with other law enforcement investigators at the local, state and federal level to share information and coordinate efforts on crimes that affect a large area of the Rogue Valley.
