On January 11th 2010 at 4:14 a.m., Jackson County Fire District #3 and the Central Point Police Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the vacant Mon Desir restaurant located at 4615 Hamrick Road, in Central Point. Immediately after the fire was extinguished an origin and cause investigation began with investigators from Jackson County Fire District #3, the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Central Point Police Department.
The preliminary investigation determined that this fire was human caused. The ensuing investigation has been turned over to the Central Point Police Department, and is being classified as arson.
If anyone has information that may aid in the investigation they are urged to contact the City of Central Point Police Department. A reward is also being offered from Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon for information in this case.
