 The public and members of the media are cordially invited to attend a concurrent Police retirement and promotion ceremony to be conducted on the evening of Thursday November 12th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Point City Council Chambers located at 140 South Third Street, Central Point.  

 

During the retirement portion of this observance Lieutenant Steve McGee will be honored before the Mayor and City Council; to include a heartfelt recognition for his thirty-two years and eight months of dedicated and commendable service as a police officer for the citizens of Central Point.

 

Following the ceremonial for Lieutenant McGee he will, as his last official act, administer the Oath of Office to his successor, Lieutenant Kristine Allison. This is an extraordinary occasion for the City of Central Point Police Department; an event we are proud to share with the community we serve.

 

Lieutenant Steve McGee:

Lt. Steve McGee was born and raised in Central Point, and graduated from Crater High School in 1970. In 1971 Lt. McGee joined the Oregon National Guard and served for six years, rising to the rank of Sergeant. Lt. McGee began his policing career as a Jackson County Sheriff’s Reserve in 1973, and was hired by the Central Point Police Department on April 20th, 1977. During his career Lt. McGee served on the Central Point SWAT Team for ten years and graduated from the FBI sniper school. Lt. McGee also served as a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Less Lethal Instructor and Patrol Sergeant.  Lt. McGee was promoted to his current position in 2004, attaining his Management Certificate from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Lt. McGee has been married to his wife Janice for 29 years, and they have two young grandchildren. In retired life Lt. McGee will spend more time with family and his next love, as avid outdoorsman.

 

Lieutenant Kristine Allison:

Lt. Kristine Allison was born and raised in Central Point, and graduated from Crater High School in 1991. That same year Lt. Allison was hired by the Oregon State Police as a Cadet, stationed in Coos Bay.  Lt. Allison later transferred to the Fish and Game Division, working in the Rogue River Unit. In 1994 Lt. Allison joined the Phoenix Police Department as a Reserve Officer, eventually being hired full time in 1996. Lt. Allison went on to join the Lincoln City Police Department in 1996 and in 1998; Lt. Allison was hired by the Central Point Police Department where she has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and most recently Detective.  In 2007 Lt. Allison earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Oregon University and in September of 2009, a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University. Kris is married to husband Jeff, a Senior Trooper with the Oregon State Police, and together they have two young daughters.
