Support your community by getting involved!

The Central Point Council encourages citizen participation in shaping our community.  One of the key elements of any community is characterized by the commitment of is elected officials, appointed leaders, and involvement by citizens.

By joining a program or committee in the city of Central Point, you are giving yourself a chance to be heard and make decisions that will impact the community for years to come. What better way to give something back to the community then to be an active member in the city’s decision making process?

There are various ways to volunteer and get involved.

Parks & Recreation Events

Special Events

Central Point Parks and Recreation has several events throughout the year that depend on reliable volunteers to help create fun and memorable events for families who attend.

Police Programs

Explorer Post Program

The Explorer Post Program provides an opportunity for younger citizens of Central Point to assist their community by aiding public safety officers with tasks such as traffic control and crowd control at city events. Explorers attend monthly meetings where training in related fields of law enforcement is provided. Additionally Explorers are involved in D.A.R.E activities and assisting full time officers.

Volunteers in Police Service Program (VIPS)

Volunteers in VIPS provide additional support to law enforcement officers by helping enhance police responsiveness, service delivery, and information input. Volunteers can look forward to helping out wherever they are best fitted as volunteers are given tasks and duties best suited to their skills. While volunteers are not sworn officers they bring new life and enthusiasm to the police department.
